First Steps

First Steps

You've received a life-changing diagnosis, and you may now be thinking: What do I do next? How you have lived in the past has not been supportive of your health. Your lifestyle needs to change rapidly.

After countless hours of research into ongoing clinical and pre-clinical studies, interviews with patients who experienced radical remissions and cured themselves, and reviewing the results of various alternative treatments, we've identified 10 steps often followed by those individuals who conquered their disease naturally. We are providing these experiences here so you can make the necessary adjustments according to what has worked for others.

Before considering any of this information, please search for a trained physician you are comfortable with and can teach you about the available standards of care. We are providing these remedies in addition to those existing solutions.

Here are ten foundational steps to your healing journey you should consider today:

1. Heal mentally
2. Go all-out green with whole foods and a plant-based diet, consuming only organic products
3. Avoid animal-based products
4. Stop eating any sugar
5. Remove all processed foods from your diet
6. Lower your toxin load and detoxify your body
7. Exercise daily, including muscle training and weights
8. Drink natural spring water
9. Take responsibility for your life and your disease
10. Find those treatments that cured others of their disease

We recommend you work with a physician on a program that addresses your needs. If you choose a physician with experience in using alternative treatment modalities or naturally derived therapies, request to talk to patients treated and cured by this physician, not just treated but cured of their disease. Your doctor should have real experience and success with the care he promotes.

Step 1: Heal mentally and address past trauma

Stress, trauma, and mental anguish may arguably be the leading cause of disease. Stress is the common risk factor for 75%–90% of conditions, including diseases that cause the foremost morbidity and mortality (Frontiers in Human Neuroscience. 2017 June, NASD). This is a mind-blowing statistic that must be acknowledged. Stress can alter the chemistry of our brain and impact organ function. Reducing stress will make you happier and healthier, two essential characteristics that may help you heal. Your mental capacity is the most powerful tool you have at your disposal, and it can work in your favor. However, it can also work against you. Being confronted with the disease is a wake-up call. It is an indicator of mental trauma, stress, and something that interferes with your outlook on life. Do you worry? Do you feel stressed? Do you roller-coaster? If you relate to any of these, talk to someone and take an active role in your mental healing. It is possibly the most crucial step as it will repair and mend the past and, importantly, give you back the positive energy you will need on your cancer healing journey (www.ChrisBeatCancer.com; see the Interviews section). Another resource is Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, an 8 week program that teaches mindfulness meditation to help one cope better and be more at ease in one's life. MBSR programs have demonstrated clinical benefits for various chronic illnesses, including cancer (Psycho-oncology. 2010).

After conducting extensive research into people who have cured themselves of their cancer, we can confidently say that everyone took responsibility for their mental well-being. Studies have found a link between an upbeat mental state and improved health, highlighting the need for a sense of purpose in life and the importance of responsibility. (Psychological Science. 2013 July, JAMA Psychiatry. 2017 October, Journal of Psychosomatic Research. 2009 July, Journal of Epidemiology. 2008 August)

Step 2: Go all-out green with whole foods and a plant-based diet, consuming only organic products in their original state

This requires completely transforming from the traditional western diet to a whole food plant-based diet (WFPB). Your breakfast, lunch, and dinner should consist of real foods that are in their natural state and are certified organic, with no processed ingredients. Organic produce is necessary because you need to avoid the consumption of additional toxins through pesticides and chemicals such as glyphosate (Nutrition Journal. 2004 October). Consume this diet so your body can heal.

Eating various fruits and vegetables is also essential, as each contains specific nutrients that the body needs to function at its optimum level. Please reference the grocery list in the resources section for recommended produce.

Step 3: Avoid animal-based products

Following the previous step, you should refrain from consuming animal-based products. This includes milk, cheese, yogurt, all meat, etc. Animal-based products are rich in saturated fatty acids, sodium, and animal proteins, increasing inflammatory and oxidative stress markers (Nutrition Journal. 2004 October, Nutrients. 2019 March, The China Study). If you feel need animal-based proteins, opt for organic grass-fed and finished meat.

Step 4: Stop eating sugar

The consumption of added sugar is associated with higher levels of inflammation. Sugar is found naturally in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. We highly recommend you stop eating sugar, avoid consuming processed foods, including salad dressing, sauces, beverages, etc., and reduce the consumption of especially high glycemic fruits as well. Every cell in the body uses sugar as a source of energy. However, cancer cells use 200 times more sugar than healthy cells. Studies have found that the absence of sugar may starve cancer cells. Therefore, removing sugar from your diet is essential if you have been diagnosed with cancer (Nutrition & Metabolism. 2011 October, Cancer Research. 2010 August, The Journal of Clinical Investigation. 2014 January).

As you work on healing, you want your body's energy to focus on your immune system and ensure it works hard without additional liabilities. Your body must be set up for success while trying to kill off the cancer cells (www.ChrisBeatCancer.com; see the Interviews section).

Step 5: Remove all processed foods from your diet

Processed foods contain hydrogenated oils, additives, chemicals, synthetic fibers, and a long list of other toxic ingredients that do not belong in your body. They disrupt the function of the gut microbiome and lead to inflammation (BMJ. February 2018). Seed oils contain high levels of omega-6 linoleic acid, a polyunsaturated fat (PUFA) that impairs the membrane of the mitochondria, signaling scarcity in the body, causing us to gain weight, and promoting the progress of metabolic and chronic diseases (Journal of Lipids. 2021 March).

Removing all processed and packaged foods from your diet will make space for nutrient-dense, plant-based foods that may help you kill the disease cells in your body.

Step 6: Lower your toxin load and detoxify the body

To lower your toxin load, you must evaluate the purity of your daily products. This includes dish soap, laundry detergent, candles, garden pesticides, plastic, lead-based paint, perfume, deodorant, etc. These products contain synthetic chemicals, aluminum, and other harmful toxins that will only increase the toxic load in your body (Cancer.gov - Cancer-Causing Substances). Additional stressors to the body include contact with wifi, technology, and cell phones. Toxins within your body cause a consistent burden on your system. As you alter your diet, you must practice detoxifying habits to remove the toxins from your body. These practices include rebounding, sweating, sauna, coffee enemas, colonics, fasting, chelation therapy, etc. (www.ChrisBeatCancer.com; see the Interviews section). By implementing these practices in your daily routine, you are helping your body detox properly and ensuring all waste is leaving the system (GreenMedinfo).

As you work on detoxing and removing the diseased cells from your body, ensure that you aren't putting extra stress on the process by evaluating the toxins in your everyday products.

Step 7: Exercise daily, including muscle training and weights

Regular exercise helps manage several health problems, including cancer, heart disease, and stroke. Physical activities also stimulate various chemicals in the brain, which may improve potential anxiety, depression, and overall happiness (GlennSabin.com). As exercise delivers oxygen and nutrients to your tissues, it helps your system and muscles feel alive and 'needed.' Exercise improves bodily functions and keeps blood flowing throughout your body. Studies have found an inverse relationship between physical activity and mortality in people with cancer which further supports the notion that exercise should be embraced by all cancer patients (Medical Oncology. 2010 April, Cancer Epidemiology, Markers & Prevention. 2018 February).

Step 8: Drink clean, purified water

Tap water is often contaminated with several chemicals, including trace contaminants, chlorine, and fluoride (EPA.gov). The body is comprised of up to 60 percent water, making water essential for life. As water flows through all our organs and cells, it must be clean and free of disease, metals, and any matter that may harm the body. Drinking clean water (ideally spring water) will reduce the toxic load put on your body (Journal of Dentistry. 2015 September).

Step 9: Take responsibility for your life and your disease

This is probably the essential step as you decide to heal your body from disease. Your life is in your hands, and you can't pass that responsibility to your doctor. To get the best possible treatment, you must advocate for yourself and do your research. The doctor will not prioritize you over any other patients, and they aren't incentivized to do any additional research to support their practice. You must take responsibility for your health and future by learning as much as possible about your disease, treatment options, and available support systems. This will not be an easy journey, but as you assume responsibility and control, you will be able to handle any obstacles and make the best decisions for your future. The focus is healing, and that must be top of mind. You must be committed to doing whatever it takes to get better.

Step 10:  Find those treatments that cured others of your disease

A disease indication is an urgent matter and requires your full attention! The number one initiative we found most beneficial for those who have successfully overcome their diagnosis was that they did not waste any time but assumed immediate and full ownership of their situation. Turning it over to a doctor or a friend or avoiding the diagnosis is risky. Is there someone out there who has been cured? What was the therapy, and how did they cure cancer from their system? It is important to consult with others and research what has worked for them. This may become your most challenging research project. Keep looking for validated patient experiences and treatments potentially leading to a cure. This takes time, dedication, and a desire to learn and understand. It may become a full-time occupation. The reward is available once you establish those treatments that have proven successful in curing.

A recently published study, which analyzed the lifestyles of over 276,000 male and female U.S. veterans, confirmed the effectiveness of our 10-step plan. The study found that adopting eight key healthy behaviors could add up to 24 years to a person’s life. These behaviors included maintaining a healthy diet, engaging in regular physical activity, getting sufficient sleep, managing stress, nurturing strong relationships, and avoiding smoking, opioid abuse, and excessive drinking (American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. 2024 January, Geriatrics. 2024 June).

If you are diagnosed with cancer, we suggest that your physician completes the RGCC Onconomics Plus Test with you to identify your primary tumor and provide guidance into which therapeutic options will be most effective for treating your cancer.
